OUTTAKES - JAPANESE HAND TATTOOING

Closer details showing tradtional Japanese hand tattooing, along with the finished tattoo. The design below took one hour to execute, and is the name of this woman's partner, who did her Michael Parks backpiece. If I recall correctly it was $200 per hour to get hand work done. For larger pieces that day, the outline would be done by machine, thus saving vast amounts of time, and then colored in by hand. None of the visiting Japanese spoke much English and the woman translating for them was kept very busy with the many customers.
