Annie Sprinkle was in Seattle performing her one woman show "Herstory of Porn" when her maid went out to do the laundry, and left a few candles burning on her houseboat. The entire boat burned, destroying all of Annie's possessions, and killing her two cats.

I attended the benefit on June 20th, and all I can say is that is was one of those fabulous collections of humans being good to each other and being totally sexy at the same time, as can only seem to happen in San Francisco. Performances I managed to see included Fakir and & Cleo DuBois doing a transformation dance, Kaos Kitty's UNFORGETABLE rendition of "Barnacle Bill the Sailor", The Hail Marys (who totally rocked!) with the Reverannd Shar, Carol Queen and Fetish Diva Midori leading the live auction, Kat Sunlove's torch song "Annie Sprinkle Turns Me On", the guy who runs WORDFUCK's hysterical spoken word piece about making noise during sex, and Frank & Linda Moore's outrageous rendition of Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe."

Guest performers also included Pat Califia, Jade Blue Eclipse, Fat Chance Belly Dance, Scarlot Harlot, Nina Hartley, Thea Hillman, some of the Sisters of Perpetual Indugence and Margo St. James.
